Also, this is NOT an EFS so multiply by 1.6. With my previous Canon I had the Canon EF 28-135, great lens, and I regret selling it with the old camera. I guess I most often use the Canon EFS 18-135, which came with my camera. I love my big lens, I mean absolutely love the quality ( Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 USM), but it's expensive, not suitable for close by, heavy, and BIG. I would indeed assume than when an EFS lens says "10" then it means really "10". Photography is just a hobby, have been active with it on and off for years now. and I travel a lot, so that makes it sometimes a challenge. I'm not always the fastest in replying either. Because it doesnt make sence if they put '10-18' label on a lens that is made for aspc cameras but the numbers are ment for fullframe.if you know what I mean Now this particular lens is made for the aspc camera's, so I assume that the 10 is in this case really 10mm on the 70d or should I multiply it with 1.6. One thing I dont get by the way, lets take for examle the EF-S 10-18 from canon. Was thinking of canon 50mm 1.4 or Tokina 11-16 or zeis 50mm. I cant make my mind up between portret photography or landscape (prime/wide).

I've been using the standard kit lens till now (18-55) but am in the market for a new lens! any suggestions ? Don't go crazy on me with the "L" stuff haha. So far I'm pretty pleased with the 70d, still some minor annoyance with the UI but it keeps getting better. I had a dslr before couple years back and something triggered me to buy one again. Absolutely nice collection of hardware you got there haha! Myself I'm just a guy with too many interests and photography just happens to be one of the latest and indeed one of the most expensive. Sorry for the late reply was gone for couple of days. I do have some EFS lenses, but from now on I'll only buy the EF models. The big lens has not been rivaled by any of them when it comes to quality of the pictures. The other lenses I have are pretty generic and I do not use them as often as I'd want. I did add the x2 Extender to that lens, which gives it a stunning zoom. well keep a few meters between you and what you'd like to photograph, if only to avoid that you hit the subjects with your lens haha. It's a BIG lens and not suitable for close up. So good that I have a hard time working with my other "normal" lenses. My favorite lens (picture quality) is the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM - it's an amazing lens, tac sharp and super fast. the 70D is indeed an awesome camera! I've done some stunning pics with it. Quite often I run into issue when trying to connect and such. The way WiFi works is not all that great either.

Since I have worked with the F828 a lot, getting used to the "classic" SLR body, even with flip screen, still annoys me till this day. The gripe I have with Canon is the UI for one indeed. Sony unfortunately dropped that very practical design and (in my humble opinion) never got close to what that little camera achieved. I've tried other brands and models but the only camera I have truly loved before my Canons is the Sony DSC F828. The thing I absolutely love is the picture quality I with Canon. got some great lenses, 3 bodies (M, 60D and 70D), but like all other users, we lack a great all-purpose lens. I'd consider myself a hobby shooter, with way too much invested in this hobby haha.
